2017 NoliFest Hometown Throwdown

World Kayak proudly announces the 9th annual series of grassroots paddling events in the Tri-Cities region.  The World Kayak Hometown Throwdown is a series of FUN & FREE whitewater paddling events aimed at friendly competition on the Nolichucky River.  Event rules are easy and prizes are only given out for participation… we draw names from a hat!

All boaters/paddlers are welcome to participate!  Our World Kayak region has teamed up with local Sponsors & World Kayak Partners to have this special event at NoliFest with prizes!  Look for other HTTD events over the course of the 2016 summer paddling season also.  This event will be participants choice with either: a 1.5 mile downriver boatercross or team slalom survivor course on the Lower Nolichucky (Class I-II rapids)!

2016 Steelhead Falls Huck-Fest

Sunday we got together at Steelhead Falls for some hucking good times.  The forecast was for rain, but it turned out dry and pleasant.  The flow was the lowest I have ever seen at 580 cfs, which provided for forgiving drops.  Special recognition to Aaron Anderson who made his first waterfall drop, and also to Scott and Joan for pictures and video.
